Fishing in the Kawartha's
The Kawartha Lakes in Ontario are renowned fishing waters for smallmouth and largemouth bass, walleye (pickerel) and; the mighty muskellunge, and, increasingly, anglers are coming to the Kawarthas especially for the plentiful panfish. Lovesick Lake has been said to be as beautiful if not more then Rice Lake.
Walleye in the one to two pound range are plentiful, and some are also being caught in the 6 - 8 pound range.
Bass fishing has been terrific throughout the season in recent years. Our guests found the bass plentiful, both small and large mouth, and reported good catches.
Many anglers come to the Kawarthas and Lovesick Lake for the muskellunge fishing. Every year many were caught by our guests, and some were a good size. Our guests reported that the muskie in the lake are plentiful and many of a smaller size were caught and put back in the lake for another year. Also, several guests shared exciting tales of "the one that got away"! - large muskie were hooked, but not landed. They're
still there to offer our anglers exciting challenges next year.
